Nice to met you last night, Brigid, and it's interesting to read your thoughts on the show.
I thought it was a good, gig, but an odd venue. After wandering through the glorious and characterful, historic streets of York, we came to a monstrous 1960s car park/job centre complex bearing a small chalk board with "JoHn fOxX" hastily scrawled on it and an arrow pointing towards a doorway that we were not sure if we'd ever come back out of again. Luckily, we did.
Instant gig highlights for me were Evergreen, Catwalk and New Kind of Man. The electric violin works an absolute treat. Still no Crossfade - has it been played at all on the tour?
And talking to John after the show he mentioned that they'd had a complete nightmare on stage with things cutting out (including his vocals). Luckily, up front you could hardly tell. In fact John was singing and sounding better than I've ever heard him.
