I was looking forward to this gig for months and I wasn't disapointed, both John Foxx and Louis Gordon were on superb form performing the whole of the legendary "Metamatic" album. Chart position 18. 7 Weeks in the chart. 1980.
All the classic songs that I've been listening to for so many years were there including the Top 40 hits "Underpass", "No-One Driving" and "Burning Car", not to mention great album tracks such as "He's A Liquid", "030", "Blurred Girl" and "Plaza".
Another hugely enjoyable aspect of the gig for me was the inclusion of associated tracks from the time such as the powerful "This City", the epic "20th Century" and very probably my favourite John Foxx track of all time; "Glimmer", a powerful moment for me indeed.
One or two other points. The crowd, going by their reaction, enjoyed the night enormously and there seemed to be a great deal of affection in the place for both performers. A great atmoshpere was generated all round, plus the sound was spot on.
To finish, the contrast between the fairly shy stage presence of John Foxx and the manic persona of Gordon simply added to a great night for all. Superb stuff to say the least. By the way my wife Bev loved it as well!
