Excellent album. Prefer the 'softer' tracks over the 'harder' ones...whatever that means.
Given the kind of technology and themes involved ("a man, a woman, a city") it's the album he could've made after Metamatic if he'd put his mind to it, instead of wandering off into The Garden.
Never mind, we've got it now and that's all that matters. Beautiful.

Just one question: is the Running Man the quiet man running in traffic?

I'll get me coat..

I thought the same. Running in traffic was a relatively jovial and playful affair. I reckon he's got pas the cars now, ran off the M1, and has gotten into darker territory by this point.

Now he's just running. Destination uncertain.

So long as he avoids Chesterfield.

Destination is more than uncertain .. it's unknown!

(I really must learn to take my John Foxx albums more seriously..)

My verdict: a dream of an album. The best thing John has done since the second coming. I've often thought that there was unfinished business back in the early 80s, as electro in it's purer forms was short lived and there was much more ground to be explored. At last, 30 years on, with this strictly analogue recording, John alone from those futurist days has gone some way to putting that right. If Interplay had been released in 1981 I've no doubt at all it would be regarded as a top five classic of the genre. Perhaps it still will be.

Evergreen, amazing track! At 140bpm I'd like to hear this played on Zane Lowes' show!

Still waiting on my copy from Zavvi, who sent me an apologetic email yesterday saying it's out of stock and they're awaiting a fresh delivery or something.

I don't mind waiting - we did after all have to wait 12 years for the follow up to In Mysterious Ways, but it's a tad frustrating nonetheless!

Watch out for the big black helicopter flown by the Psycho (Jan Michael Vincent) and the Old Codger Ernest Borgnine) ..
