I haven't slept properly since the last Hammersmith show, let alone even thinking about 2010.

Was this always the case? Would have loved to have seen them live. Bought there album last year & it's very good. I'm afraid that this isn't quite the case... Messengers will be headlining a very special one-off show which has been arranged by Extreme Voice to take place on the afternoon of the 11th of April at the 100 Club . Messengers will themselves be supported by the excellent Party Fears Three. For full details about this very special show, please point your browser here ... Rob

Just wanted to say that I thoroughly enjoyed last night! Not sure I'd want to see them at the Apollo again though - not been there since Sylvian in '88 so completely forgot about the seating.
"Hi!" again to Rob, Peter and Brian who I bumped into last night!

Great show at the Vox Club last night - it really was a cracking performance and they are still a great live band no doubt about it. Good setlist with all the hits and more... Thanks guys for Rage in Eden (track), Thin Wall, Passing Strangers, Astradyne (Billie's baby?) Sleepwalk and The Voice with the drums at the end. I even enjoyed Visions in Blue and Lament! .. Midge seemed genuinely impressed that everyone knew all the word to Hymn ..one of their best known songs over here. Excellent lighting by Chris, who I was glad to meet (facebook does have it's positive side..) and good to see you again Federica .. Only criticism would be that Warren Cann's voice was a bit too low, even during Mr X .....but never mind, they were faultless.. Just wondering if Midge (who amazingly never took his jacket off) is auditioning for Kraftwerk or trying to look like that band leader bloke on the David Letterman Show. Just joking .. great show, great night out. My appreciation of Ultravox has been re-kindled although I suppose that's what these reunion things are about.

Sorry no pics...but some might be forthcoming from another source soon .. I see there are some very bad quality vids on youtube but nothing better than yours (which take some beating!) . .actually I think they were done by the burke in front of me who kept holding his i-phone up and blocking my view! Totally anorak stuff but is it just me or does Billie play a bit of Paths and Angles on Astradyne . .or dies P&A come from Astradyne? Speaking of anoraks I've discovered a site with setlists and I've put this one up ... Vox setlist

Speaking of anoraks I've discovered a site with setlists and I've put this one up ... Vox setlist Cheers Mark, There is one area that could improve & thats the sound. The automatic level controls causes the sound to pump up and down. You may not hear this on youtube but I can hear it when I play them back on my PS3. Hopefully the successor to my Panasonic Lumix TZ10 will have manual volume recording levels then it will be just about the most perfect all in one concert going camera I've ever had.

Saw them last night in Amsterdam! In short, it was a great gig! Great music, good sound and to top it a great crowd. It was not as good as Hammersmith last year in my opinion. I sat on the second balcony this time, being not that tall that's a plus, and so I had a great view on the stage from above. They mixed the songs a little and I heard some new ones as well, New Europeans & White China. They should have kept Astradyne as opening song, nothing beats that in my opinion. I guess New Europeans has something to do with touring Europe A great gig, for those who didn't see them yet; GO! fons

Nice to meet eveyone both old & new at Sheffield last night. Best Ultravox gig I've been to since 1983. Standing gigs are the best. Each of the 4 times I've seen them this year they get better.Midge & Billy keep improvising their solos.Intro to One Small Day is a case in point. I took a few pics (and took some for a lady from down under who asked me to) They came out a bit grainier than I'd have liked but never mind.Lots of blurs. The Vox would not keep still:) I've not been able to have a real good sort through them so more may appear later. Also did a couple of videos. There is a link to a slidehow with more images at the end. And a slideshow of a few more:- http://s293.photobucket.com/albums/mm79/mateybloke/Ultravox%20Sheffield%202010/?albumview=slideshow Brian

Brian, great pix as always. Go easy on yourself though, you always deride your good work!! The only slightly negative comment I might make (if pushed) is that the view up Billy's nostrils is superb!!! But I wouldn't go that far! You are SO right that standing gigs rock!

Cheers for the comments Chris & everyone.
Trouble with me is I know that D-SLR with Manual focus & controls can do.If only I had manual focus control on my compact I would be happy.I also think the ones I took back in April were better.
As for what's up Billy's nose your not the first to mention that.
I took a couple of hundred pics with burst mode & all that but I've not been home since Wednesday night so I've not had chance for a good sort out.
Had a heck of a busy week socially, out tonight again, going to Go Ape in Bewdley tomorrow afternoon & then maybe the Bewdley beer fest on Saturday night then I can rest:) and hopefully upload some more.
Good job its a bank holiday weekend. Will give me time to recover. No more gigs booked or planned then.
