I've put up my photos now. You can find them here . I've tested it with the common browsers. As usual, IE has problems (it puts the images down too low). Firefox and Flock look the best. Opera's OK too.

You can thumb through them by moving the little ball on the slider, using the left & right arrows, or clicking on any of the images further along.

Click on the image in the centre to see it enlarged (then click on it to go back).

I don't have enough space to put up the videos. I might try putting them on Google. If I do, I'll update the above page with the links and announce it here.

He might have been confused.

I saw him on Sounds Unlimited being interviewed by Donnie Sutherland. John said he was out reconnoitering. This was in late '83.

I know this because I took a photo of the TV screen. The processing date on the slide says DEC 1983. I usually got my stuff processed quickly so he was either here in November or December of that year.

I asked him about this while he was autographing my poster. He said he and the band were in Japan when someone suggested he go to Australia to do some promo work.

He told me he went to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and did some radio and TV interviews.

He did remark after TCM how much Sydney had changed. Regardless, it was great to finally see him live. [/b]
No, it wouldn't have been John who was confused, it would have been me misunderstanding his answer to my question. When he said he hadn't been to Australia for 20 years, I presumed he was referring to The Golden Section tour in 1983, which I thought must have actually played in Australia. He said he didn't actually play in Australia, he just did some radio shows. I thought he was referring to 1988, which I know is three years after his last album, but he was obviously referring to 1983. My mistake ... I'm not that up-to-speed with John's gigography history.

Regardless, I'm glad that he and Louis were able to make the trip in 2008. It's never too late to catch up.

Cheers ...

P.S. Thank you very much for your photo collection, too! I'm glad that someone there was able to document the gig properly. That is, until the John Foxx & Louis Gordon Australian Tour CD gets released! What will they call that one, Travel perhaps?

Can I just add my voice to the sound of the crowd, and agree that they are superb pictures! Really well presented and document the show for those of us who weren't there.

One of the things that always inspires me at John's live shows is the 'added value' he brings to the event by being so friendly, approachable and easy going.

To me, I think its got to be worth a few quid on the ticket price for this alone.
He's always patient, makes time for as many people as he can, and we respect him for that. He doesn't get mobbed or hassled (I don't think, or he wouldn't do it) and is prepared to give his time when he must be knackered.

Your after show pictures capture this geniality too.
Nice work and thanks again for sharing.

I should mention that all the images were cropped and resized. The originals are quite big.

But if anyone wants one, because they're in it or they want to print them or use them as a desktop image or whatever, I'd be happy to put them up.
