Not being rude but anyone know Dennis Leigh's date of birth? Can't find it anywhere. Just curious.

This was asked on another forum a few months ago, to which there was not one person who knew the answer. I think Cerise and Rob have said even they dont know the date. At least it adds to the mystery of the Quiet Man. wink

I even went to Chorley registry office armed with a twenty pound note "Tha'll have ft gi'us more than that" replied the attendant .

It´s very mysterious. I´m sure Rob knows as he´s probably been invited in the past or recently to his very private birthday do.

The answer may be in his lyrics:

....he drives by 1958... (A New Kind Of Man)

....I´d like to glide in the long green light of a July afternoon... (I Can´t Stay Long)

...Lieutenant 030... (030)

Could it be the 3rd July 1958? laugh

Given relevant dates/periods, I'd say he was born between 1950-52

Hi Chris
If your logic was correct that would make John younger than me. I tend to go along with Alex and I'm going to guess around 1952 which to me would seem a nearer/fairer date.

Not knowing adds to the mystery of Mr Foxx.

Its a nice idea Chris, but Numan is about five (or more) years younger than John, and it is Numan who loves driving and was born in '58.

That's very true. 1958 would be too late for John and that is when NUman was thrown into the world.

In a recent interview, Foxx was talking about somebody - who's name escapes me - and he said "He's a couple of years younger than me" and on checking the said person's birthdate, it was 1953 I seem to remember... or maybe 55. Anyway something like that!!

John seeems to be of the same generation as Byrne, Bowie, Gabriel and Ferry, although I'd say he was closer in age to Gabriel (who is now 57) than the others.

That's a new theory Newvox about the song "A New Kind of Man". Could John be referring to Gary Numan? Discuss.

By coincidence I was also born in 58. smile
