Looks as thou everyone has really enjoyed John's show's.
I can't see how anybody could complain (apart from wanting to hear more!).
I luved the almost hidden anger behind his vocals that really showed he is indeed into his craft.
Anger? I didn't notice that. It has mellowed since the Ultravox days but it still sounds great.
I actually asked John why he came out to tour Australia when quite frankly his support bass is very small and radio never plays his stuff.
He was very polite and and said because he was asked and he wanted to see a bit of Australia and play some live gig's. He said when he was down in 1983, it was just a side trip from when he was touring Japan and he did not see anything or play live, so he was happy to be downunder.
I tried Googling for the promoter, 2HB Promotions, but I didn't find anything relevant.
Red Octopus obviously did the posters and T-shirts.
I'm curious to know who his big fan was and whether they'll try and get him to come out again.
Me I really was glad he came out and I sure from the Sydney concert he realised that while small - us Aussie fans are passionate.
I have waited with baited breath ever since the Garden was released to see John play live and frankly never thought I would. he was brilliant and seems to be a very nice guy as well.
He struck me as a little introverted or, at least, reserved. A nice, pleasant, harmless sort of bloke. Louis was a lot more extroverted on stage judging by all his jumping and jiving and rocking and reeling. I wonder what John was thinking with all those glances he was making.
I can't say I blame Louis. He wasn't getting much attention. Everyone who stood up at the front had their eyes firmly fixed on John.
