When she was back into town before returning to college, my older sister dragged her
Metamatic-obsessed punkette-wannabe baby sis (that would be me) to see the Grateful Dead at the now-defunct Uptown in Chicago on 20 August 1980.

But it was a great show and I still retain a fondness for some Dead material, so don't start with me . . .
Incidentally, that concert took place the day after she took our mom and me to see David Bowie in "The Elephant Man" at the Blackstone. The ticket for the Dead was $11.00 US, and Bowie in a diaper was $16.00 (I kept them both in a scrapbook – sad). Quite an eventful week!
