Many many years ago I went to see The Pretenders who were basically crap but they had UB40 supporting before they were famous and they were outstanding.

I guess also JF when he was supporting the Human League.

Midge Ure played support in the '90s for someone, cant remember who now. It just seems odd that it was after he was famous but i suppose its like John with The League, its just one of the strange things that happens. confused

Easy - has to be The Rubicks.

Otherwise, I'd go way back in time to the time I saw a band called Culture Club supporting A Flock of Seagulls in Oxford somewhere. I had simply never seen anyone like Boy George before.

Good topic - I'll have to ponder this... cool

Pan Sonic used to do a lot of support slots for Suicide - that was one hell of a double-bill!

Think though I'd have to go for Pulp supporting Oasis at the Sheffield Arena. They stood in for The Verve at the last minute because The Verve's guitarist had broke his arm.

Jarvis announced that they had a new song and it was called 'Common People'.

We never stayed to watch Oasis - no point after that!

As we walked down towards the exit when Oasis came on, Jarvis was at the front eating a bag of chips and offered us some! Class!
