Kate Bush, Kate Bush, oh and Kate Bush. Never fails to amaze me.
I too was 'taken' at an impressionable age by Ms Bush..

Maybe Annie Lennox at a pinch - although I'm not a fan of her solo work. She's very good live.

Let's not forget the Human League sisters, or indeed Bananarama eh guys and gals?

One female singer I do like is Toyah Wilcox.
I'd agree with most people on this site about Kate Bush (stunning dancer as well) and Blondie

Would have to say Nico, for most everything.

Ute Lemper, for the Scott Walker songs on her Punishing Kiss album.

Honorable mention for Suzanne Vega, for Days of Open Hand.

And of course Mimi Parker from Low.

Cheers Ivan,

I tend to like female singers with natural, untrained vocals. The vocal aerobics of most modern singers (of any gender) just annoys the hell out of me.

I'm sure Lætitia Sadier has had training but her voice seems natural and effortless to me...and damn sexy too! smile
