Doing it this way as I know you have e- mail problems on your dog and bone
Took the old Bianchi out this morning , she is performing well on the climbs given her venerable age Have you got your Epica flights sorted ? only 7 weeks to go ,my trusty gregario !
Membs , if per chance you read this get yerself down Piacenza way and write RADS and IVAN on the road in white paint plus get your big METAMATIC pink foam hand ready

Alwight!

Sorry for delay - Olympic Fever! It's been great! Must admit, got very caught up with the whole thing what with it being on my doorstep.

I sent my flight stuff ages ago - have I got your right email address?

Hiya mate Great 4 days in the hills Just cycled the 42k back to Alessandria The old Bianchi still performing well up and down the hills A slight problem with the derailleur as any upward gear changes results in the chain over-shooting the big ring Literally 20 yards from home applied some slight pressure on the front brake and and the cable snapped Very lucky indeed I will be off to my trusty bike mechanic this afternoon
Is this evening still ok between 8 30 and 9 pm your time You can bring me up to steam with your itinerary

Good morning my fellow TEAM METAMATIC team mate ! good talking to you last night but two things we didn't touch on re the Bianchi
Firstly , I suspect you are about to enter the weird and wonderful world of cleated quick- release shoes (necessary for the half pedals) so if you see any going cheap in that there London go for it !
Secondly the transportation of said vélocipede I will look round for a box or carrier to protect it from the ravages of the Easyjet baggage handlers If you've got something already . let me know

Re the course if time dictates that we take the shorter route we could do plenty of climbing from the country gaff on the Monday or the Tuesday Re your training anything come to mind or will it have to be Tufnell Park ?

Yo The Radler my Metanmatic cycling homey ! Ma in law's 88th birthday today Out for lunch , so to burn off the post- prandial calories took the old as opposed to new Bianchi for a spin on some tough climbs My trusty cycling mechanic seems to have sorted out the derailleur problem , but I warn you now that when you are doing the Epica any change back onto the top sprocket must be carried out with meticulous precision Managed the Highgate climbs yet ? Another good training tip might be to do lots of canal towpaths (I presume there are plenty in London) they will stand you in good stead for the gravel sections on the "strade bianche" Only one month to go !

Is this the ride for venerable aged cycles sponsored by amongst others Brookes?

My dealer who I know well, suggested I entered on the basis I had a 25 year old bike with ancient Campy Record bits, visible brake cables, and Brookes leather saddle.

I presumably have that similar wear worn look!

I think the bike may suffer less than me though.
