true .. mind you it's all so well organised and efficient that it's almost annoying!

Hansa Studios was a bit disappointing .. only saw it from the outside but you hardly notice it as such, also due to the fact hat there's an up-market Italian restaurant underneath which totally distracts from an otherwise majestic facade. Might be worth a proper tour next time.

Yes, "Heroes" is the one that perhaps sums it all up, but I kept being reminded of 'History of Modern' as there is history but it is all so recent, and there is so much modern ..

best bits:
1. the Wall and the memorial in Bernauerstrasse (north) - very moving.
2. record shop near Bergmanstrasse (name escapes me, will check)
3. Norman Foster's glass dome on the Bundes/Reichstag . .history and modern in one.
cool

btw: Flightpath Tegel will soon be no more as they're closing both Tegel and Schoenberg to open a brand new airport - the Brandenburg - in June.

Didn't know The Wurzels were doing a one off gig in Berlin ! Post some pictures up immediately Membs !
"Meine Damen und Herren Singt mit uns ICH BIN EIN CIDER TRINKER !" Who were the support band , The Scorpions ?
*Dons Poodle wig and holds up lighter * "Der wint of chaaangee !"
Rads I've obviously been to a different Berlin When I went it gave my native North Liverpool a run for its money in terms of bleakness and drabness Alexandra Platz is one of the ugliest places I have ever seen Having said which we went in 1997 The Reichstag was all scaffolded up and it wasn't Hristov's fault ! Guess I'll have to go again to see it at its best

Comrade Ivan: the place is a perpetual Baustelle ... they're going to reconstruct a bloomin' castle next!

Yes Alexanderplatz is bleak but you have to appreciate it in it's, er, bleakness. Post-Stalin Soviet style architecture is everywhere .. and you gotta love it. Renaissance Florence it ain't, but the Fernsehturm is as much a testament to allusions of grandeur as, say, Giotto's campanile or the bleedin' Colosseum.... innit.
