Trip to the German capital is imminent, so was just wondering about a possible playlist to have while wandering down the Unter den Linden, chillin' in the Tiergarten or posing at the Bauhaus.

"Heroes" is the obvious choice and.....? was noch?

Danke schön, chaps!

I have of course added:

- Flightpath Tegel (a good place to start, literally)
- Kurfürstendamm

..both by Sir Denis of Foxx.

Kebab Traueme - what a great track!

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm;

Japan; Suburban Berlin, Halloween.
Marlene Dietrich; Falling in Love Again, Where Have All The Flowers Gone? (and if you can find it...) Lazy Afternoon.

And if you find anything by east German agitator Renft - try him too (he's not great but, hell - adds to the flavour)

Modern stuff - Schneider TM, To Rococco Rot, Raster Noton label.

Back from Berlin .. and what an amazing city.

Yes, "Heroes" is the one that perhaps sums it all up, but I kept being reminded of 'History of Modern' as there is history but it is all so recent, and there is so much modern ..

best bits:
1. the Wall and the memorial in Bernauerstrasse (north) - very moving.
2. record shop near Bergmanstrasse (name escapes me, will check)
3. Norman Foster's glass dome on the Bundes/Reichstag . .history and modern in one.
cool

btw: Flightpath Tegel will soon be no more as they're closing both Tegel and Schoenberg to open a brand new airport - the Brandenburg - in June.

Glad you had a good time. It’s one of my favourite cities, and criminally I’ve not been since 2010. Sorry to hear about Tegel but not really that surprised either – it’s a very small airport certainly but it’s transport links into the city were excellent.
