Steve posted this on John's Myspace page today:

Thanks to everyone who has bought the recent limited edition releases of Metal Beat, Retro Future etc. We've had some great feedback on both. As we won't be re-pressing either I thought I'd let you know that there are only 200 copies left of Metal Beat and 250 of Retro Future. We are also down to the last 12 Metamatic t-shirts and 150 copies of Sideways. This stock is available through www.townsend-records.co.uk including a multi-buy where you receive a discount if you purchase Metal Beat, Retro Future and the last of the Metamatic t-shirts together. We don't have any copies of The Hidden Man or Live From A Room in stock, though I think Townsend have 3-4 copies of each - and as far as I know those are the last ones available.

Anybody who hasn't got any of these CDs yet will have to make act quickly!!

Thanks Alex for posting the info about the last copies of Johns albums.

It's a case of act now or lose out.

And I was worried that they'd sell out of Retro Future and Metal Beat at recent concerts.

Yes, if anyone hasn't got these yet, it's worth buying them while you've still got the chance.

Great CD's. laugh

I don't see any copies of Hidden Man or Live From a Room on the Townsend site.

I ordered my copy of Live From a Room on 10th November via a seller on netsoundsmusic.com (It still hasn't arrived mad ). I looked long and hard on the net and only found a few copies below £20.

For anyone still looking for this CD it's a little better at the moment. There are two copies up for grabs on e-bay (auction style). This one is being sold by the same chap who recently sold the batch of Drive EPs: -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=370000030140&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=024

Here is the other link: -

Happy bidding smile

For non-Ebayers there are reasonably priced copies on http://www.musicstack.com/. I think they will be special order items so might involve a long wait (like my copy!).

Cheers,
Mike

My 'Live From a Room' order has gone pear-shaped mad

The company in question claimed to have one in stock, but after waiting 23 days I contacted them yesterday to be informed "this title is lost after our last inventory" . Yet they still advertise they have a copy available today!

I'm afraid this looks like a scam. They seem to be using rare music as bait, only attempting to source the title following an order.

Not sure I can name them on this forum. Would that be a problem?

Anyway, it has ended happily. I won a copy on e-Bay this morning laugh

It could be genuine - a similar thing happened to me with a pre-order of From Trash at HMV.

But if you are suspicious, it might be worth just warning anybody else about to use the same store just in case.

We know this CD is quite rare now, so it may not be surprising that some traders may have had it, but not updated their pages etc...

Thanks Alex.

The thing that makes me fear the worst is the way their advert was presented and updated. When I ordered on the 10th November they were advertising 'Live From A Room' for £11.17. They actually stated a date (sometime in June I think) when then had obtained the copy. Following my order, the advert dissappeared, only to reappear a few days later at £11.32 with an aquired date sometime in November.

This all sounds okay, until you take into account they were never actually able to supply me with a copy. frown
