It was always known that a 'complete metamatic' re-issue would cover about three or four cds, but given the songs availible and with sound quality in mind im happy with the 'definitive metamatic' re-issue. Thanks to Rob and everyone involved in the project, and im sure the same standard will continue in the follow up re-issues.

Well it's certainly not looking bad, put it that way...

How would it be to release a limited edition DVD of the bed film within all the tracks?
The film was mentioned in the past - I never knew it existed.
For a single CD it would make no sense but together with the film on a DVD it would do!!!

Don't know if this is possible - but I would love to see that film - and hear all the tracks with it.

Let's be frank; anything from the Metamatic era not on the forthcoming reissue isn't good enough for release.

I'm sure John must have lots of tapes floating around of half-finished ideas and experiments; much as we'd like to hear them all, it's quite rightly his choice as to whether they ever see the light of day.

Indeed - any musician (or writer, or filmaker, etc etc) always has tons of rought/demo stuff knocking about - here at Feline HQ I've got shoeboxes full of casettes, shelves full of CDs, hard drives full of WAVs - but you only release to the good, finished stuff to the public!

Yes, I agree with you - but I'm very interested into watching the bed film to the tracks we have on a boot; only for my interest into John's work on that film ( after I watched the both C.O. and the T.C.M. DVD'S)


But you are right - it would not be an interesting item for the "masses".

As far as I'm aware, the film (The Bed) was never completed - I'm not even sure if it even progressed to the stage where footage was shot. So a DVD is very unlikely...

Ah, that is sad. I assumed that film material
existing after it was mentioned here in the past from anyone I don't remember the name.
I'm sure it would be an interesting work.
So , we cannot get all what we want - that's life.
