I dont think its any worse than the Metamatic tour, the volume levels were a lot lower at the Luminaire compared to the Brum Barfly though.

We left with our hearing intact this time laugh

Thanks for yours and Kerry's pictures Brian :-)

I think the thumping beat - though it IS a recurring element of Foxx reworkings - simply don't film well on your digital cameras. Always tends to sound amplified and dominate the sound.

I remember making a short film of one of the tracks last year, and when I played it back I thought 'huh? I don't remember it being so heavy...'

So I think it may be a partial illusion of the ears...?

Cheers Alex,

Kerry did say that he wasn't impressed with the sound quality.By the time Youtube has re-encoded it it probably loses some top end as well.

It probably doesn't help that the acoustics in this smaller type of venue are usually crap too...

During "A Million Cars" in the first set of the night, the left-hand speaker on the PA was crackling a bit at the punishment John & Louis were giving it, actually!

Im not a fan of too much drum beats (if it sounds like techno) but Metal Beats is a different matter. A Million Cars has to be one of the best from the recent tracks, especially live. You can always trust John and Louis to give a powerful performance.

Brilliant night, I was hoping for another Metamatic gig (missed all of them damn it!) but this was just as good! Met Louis in the afternoon and John in the evening, both really friendly guys (as I suspected). I was the kid in the Man Machine get up (red shirt, black tie laugh ) if anyone saw me haha.
