It would be interesting to know if anyones tried these new memory flash / card camcorders at Johns gigs, and what type of quality they produce under concert conditions.

Mine was a 16Gb memory card HD camcorder.
Picture was fine.Camera mike was unable to cope with bass. There is a wind muffle mode which may have made it better but i had no way of monitoring.

I suspect the difference is due to the absence of Steve D and his analogue gear in Venice. At Cargo, Steve (and Karborn) were on stage first, so I imagine he played these sounds.

Sorry if this is badly put from a technical point of view. But (as felinedescribed far more competently than I can) the analogue gear gave the set a rawness and extra layer of sound which - I imagine - would not have been present with 'just' John and Louis playing? So you got 'different' versions than we did - which I look forward to hearing!

Thanks Brian. Only they do say about visual noise due to some cards unable to compress the data. I have one ready for the Nash gig, maybe gigs soon.

I do see compression artefacts when viewed on an HDon TV so I may look into another model later.
