There was a time people complained about cds taking away from the pleasure of owning and indeed holding a vinyl album, now we dont even play the cd itself. It still feels odd at times to know just how much a collection of 'electrical signitures' affects our lives. Sometimes I look at the cd and booklet while im playing an MP3, as its the only time i see them.

The other night I spent a couple of hours webtrawling and found all the cover art for all John's releases and bunged into into my iPod (it is one of those which shows you a tiny postage stamp picture when the MP3 is playing)

How anal is that! lol
But it was cool cos I mean I found all the front and back covers for all John's old singles and even crazy things like the Ultravox "RETRO" EP and so forth (i.e. all the original cover art for the bonus tracks on the album CDs)

The only thing is that these designs were all 12" square originally and now they're about 1" square on my iPod screen.

luckily enough it doesn't also sound that "tiny" ! ;-)

I agree with Alex. Cannot help but I like them more as the plastic ones.

But as Craig said - I'm glad of any new stuff of John.

And Feline1 - I only meant digipacks "feels" a bit like Vinyl covers. You are right - they are smaller than Vinyls (That is the reason I have all the vinyl stuff of John in my shelf!). But for me it is the better option than the plastic things - it is more similar to Vinyl covers.
Love them, though you have to handle carefully with it.

sorry if this has been covered before but can anyone tell my why the new double-CD of 'metamatic' costs only £8.99 on both townsend and music non stop? not that i'm complaining or anything like that.

Its probably to do with the fact that most tracks have been avalible on two different cds before it. Plus Edsel would like this to be seen as value for money, which it would have been at twice the price. Just dont tell them that.

But you're right.

I personally feel the new release was almost embarrassingly under-priced. I don't think sales figures would have been adversely affected by a price tag of around £12.99

Ssssssh I'm not grumbling at the price. It was value for money.
