I know so little about the technical side of music, is quite embarrassing.

I do know (I think) that The Garden Studio had a Yamaha grand piano…

Thanks for the programme, Garry - much appreciated! I do feel a bit disoriented, though... having a memento of an event at which I wasn't present. smile

There might be another four or five in the Lost Property office at Basingstoke station frown

Took me a spectacular FOUR hours to get home that night, as well…

Now here's a thing.
michaelbarker has posted a wonderful composite film using some of the footage he took at Fulham.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=CAal5b08aK8

Listening to it again, I am reminded of how incredible it seems that the text was written 25 years ago and is so relevant to what John is doing now that he could have done it last week.
OK there's been some editing, but isn't that exactly how he works?

Not featured here, but there's a bit in The Quiet Man passage that goes:
He was fascinated by all tiny intimate details of these 8mm home movie films, the jerky figures waving from the seaside or the garden…"

Beautiful film-making too.
Perfectly crafted to represent its subject material.

Happy , happy cool

Thanks for that Martin, it's fantastic.

I got goosebumps watching that. It's so perfect.

I was sitting directly in front of John's piano that night, so it was nice to see the footage of his hands as he played.

A wonderful reminder of a fantastic evening.
