LOL! It was a while ago, indeed. Yes, I now fully appreciate John's solo career AND early Ultravox!, not just the Midge period... Hey, I can't help being born a few years too late!! wink

A bit off topic for this thread but I have recently re-discovered the music of The Passions (excellent website at www.thepassions.co.uk) having inadvertently opened up an email dialogue with their original drummer! There's a short biog on the site which reveals that their last LP, Sanctuary, was recorded at the Garden Studios!
Oo, interesting!

Hey Rob, did you put up that leaflet for 'The Garden' Studio? I believe it had the kit list and such. Most fascinating.

Andreas, I think you might mean excited rather than 'nervous'! wink

I'm excited also at the prospect of hearing another unknown track from John. It's amazing even after all this time something new crops up.

What other little gems are lying around waiting to be discovered, I'm asking myself. laugh

I'd be interested in this, too. I have some of this material (from Craig, about four years ago, as I recall), so I have Shadow of Your Smile and Hanging in the Air, but I don't believe I've ever heard Shine On.

As memory serves - I used to have a cassette copy of the IMW session, but it went the way of the mangled tape - the version of 'Shine On' was much more 'stringy', so much so that I was sort of disappointed when I heard the emptier, more spacious album mix. I like synth strings, I'm afraid.

Hello!!

You know, I thought that I'd got a fair bit of John's material, but things just keep popping up out of the woodwork! I think that I am missing some BBC sessions!!

On a completely different subject - does anyone know who directed the 'Underpass' video?

Cheers, Sarah xx wink

Argh. I'm getting old. I forgot Shine On was on In Mysterious Ways and thought there was another unheard Foxx track out there.

Marvellous, innit? All those people who've previously posted to say what a poor album "IMW" is, but the moment we hear of any unreleased versions of some of the songs, we desperately want to hear them. ;-)

No but seriously, I have no idea who's making CD copies for who, but put my name on the list for one.
