Sunday evening, enjoying my liqour, listening to the beautiful and sometimes quirky, oddball sounds of Yello's The Eye and wondering:

- "are there any Yello fans among the Foxxians"?
- "and if so, what are their favourite Yello albums"?
- "and do they also enjoy the albums of late years, like I do"?
- "and do they also dream of attending a Yello live performance"?
- "and, in general, do they agree that humour belongs into (electronic) music"?

Greetings from planet Dada! :p

Hello Lody mate I'm sure I posted a similar thing many years ago Living not s far away from the Swuiss border I'd lovre to see thast old roué Dieter Meyer and his side- kick Boris playing on their own turf (Zurich ?)
I like the early stuff Claro que si , excess , asnd solid gold pleasure The stuff with Shirley Bassey and Billy McKenzie is impressive

Btw as you're our Dutch correspondent , are Golden Earring /Betty Serveert still going ?

Very impressive Ivan, very Yello-ish! laugh

I'm afraid that Bettie Serveert are no longer among us.
Golden Earring are still going strong ... with selling 'Best Of' cd's.

But if you want to try some dutch music that is equally arty and poppy, try NITS !

I really like the albums from the early/mid-period as well; You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess, Stella & One Second...
Best Yello tracks for me are; L'Hotel (to me that's Foxx meeting Vangelis somewhere in winter wink ), Of course I'm lying, Domingo, Vicious Games, Desire

If you want a good taster of their songwriting and production skills you best try STELLA. It also got their biggest hit OH YEAH on it.
If you want to listen how they blended their Latin fixation with electronics you best try ONE SECOND. It's got BILLY MACKENZIE and SHIRLEY BASSEY on it.
If you're in need of a cd to test the quality of your hi-fi set you best try THE EYE. It's SUPERB PRODUCED.
Yello = electronics + experimentalism + mystery + humor + ethnical influences + superb production + pop sensibility = one of a kind! smile
