OK Membs I take up your gauntlet by launching this thread

"The day before you came " would be a corker , but Blancmange beat them by a quarter of a century or so I wouldn't want any Erasure type shenanigans either (John as Agnetha and Louis as Frida , the mind boggles )
So I suppose "Knowing me , knowing you" in a Hiroshima/My sex type stylee

There isn't really a lot of choice is there ?
Please feel free to contribute to this throwaway thread

The Visitors - I mean it sounds Foxx(ish as far as ABBA goes) anyhow - an ARP Odyssey pitch-bend mayhem solo here or there and no one would know the difference smile

It just has to be The Day Before You Came its got mystery, European flavour, a great title, and John and Louis with their tongues firmly in cheek could tease out the noir and Eurotrash dirgedisco in this one eek

I'm an ABBA fan also, well I grew up hearing them, I dont own any CD's and you'd have to shoot me first to get my body anywhere near a stage performance of 'Mamma Mia', but they are one of the greatest 70's groups ever.

Does your mother know.

That bassline lends itself to a synth laugh

Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight)

Well okay; John & Louis may want to change the title slightly.

I was thinking of the same song.
It would be such a laugh to hear something like this laugh

"Like An Angel Passing Through My Room". I can imagine "Under Attack" would work as well, in a darker version.

Cheers Ivan for the thread (throwaway..not!) - there are so many..(wish I'd brought me Abba songs list from home computer)..but here's a top 10:

- Arrival - let's start with an instrumental, and yes I know Mike Oldfield's already done it already but let's make it more Cath Oceans-y
- Does You Mother Know - yes the skuddering intro synth is sooo foxxy...
- Lay All You Love on Me - already keyboard-heavy but more electro-effects required
- Dum Dum Diddle - little known album track with killer synth riff (ambiguous lyrics may be tricky tho)
- Why Did It Have To Be Me - perfect duet for our electro-chums.
- I Am the City - never heard it but the title is brilliant
- Summer Night City - possibly as a medley with the above; power intro.
- So Long - I have a feeling Louis could do a lot with this
- Thank You for the Music - but let's make it less sloppy and Foxx/Gordon it up a bit
- Dance (While The Music Still Goes On) - again needs foxxing-up possibly with a Jori Hulkkonen remix
