Maybe I am going through a "weeding-out" phase.
Out of curosity though, what bands/artists did you like years ago but have no use for now?
For me, I used like to listen to the Sisters of Mercy once in awhile, but can't stand them now. Another example is Erasure for me. I like their first cd, but it's a struggle for me to listen to anything else.
Anyone else going through this "weeding".

I am actually going through this now as I load my iTunes.
Agreed about Erasure. Others include: Bronski Beat, Jimmy Sommerville, Adam and the Ants, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and some grunge music.

Mansun, James, Goldfrapp, Tori Amos, NIN, FSOL and INXS are a few that spring to mind.
I still enjoy Goldfrapp's first 2 albums, but that's all I need of their music I guess.
Tori Amos is a different story though - for me she peaked creatively in the late 90s and it's been downhill ever since. Bland, boring and recycling the same old songs and themes on every subsequent album. That said, her first few albums, particularly From the Choiregirl Hotel and To Venus and Back will always remain some of my very favourite albums and I'll always have a love for them.
There aren't many bands who I've completely disowned. Maybe Simply Red! I liked them when I was about 13. I only have 1 CD left in my collection (their debut), and it's right at the back!
I loved INXS when I was at college, but never got round to buying any of their albums on CD except Live Baby Live. I still have that one, and it's all I need of theirs. Not that I'm ever in the mood for it any more...
Around the same time, as I was discovering my love of electronica and darker, heavier stuff, I got into NIN, but that proved to be short lived.
Oh, and Joseph Arthur. Loved his debut album, but was put right off him after seeing him live. A rude, arrogant excuse of a musician...

I remember seeing INXS in the US before they made it big. They were damn good live. One of the best I have seen live. Even before that I made a trip to Australia in 82, and I got to know of them there. Unfortunately, they got big years later, and -- of course -- it ruined them. Their first 4 cds are worth a listen. Some songs later, but their later cds should be viewed as mostly selling out with too much r/b rhythms. They should have been exploring new sounds instead of being a copy of the Stones. Blue

It has to be New Order for me. Technique was sublime. World in Motion was passable. Everything since has left me cold. I blame World in Motion.
I haven't left too many behind completely: I guess The Mission is a band I never listen to anymore, whereas I would (and do) occasionally go for The Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim.

Agree with you on the NO Church Puddle. Also for me its U2. I used to love them back in the day. Up till Joshua Tree. Then when they brought out that dodgey BB King type stuff and Bono met the pope it all went wrong. Zooropa was the last album of theres i bought.

Manic Street Preachers, Jimi Tenor and The Cure.
I even bought few Manics CD:s which seems odd to me now. Early '90 was very quiet time with my favourite artists and obviously I had to find something new to listen & buy.
Early Jimi Tenor was rather good but then he started to do "jazz" and I lost my interest.
I bought late '80 all The Cure CD:s within few months. After seeing them live '92 I stopped liking them and sold all the CD:s except "Japanese Whispers".
