NO! DON'T DO IT! HE'S NOT WORTH IT!

Trust me...this bundling players into the back of a cab and heading off into the middle distance doesn't always work - just ask Dimitar Berbatov...remember him? cool

Arf! laugh

I can’t find anything other than what’s on the web, and the official site seems to be the best:
http://www.bhf.org.uk/events-and-volunteering/events/bike-rides/london-to-Brighton-2010.aspx
I can only suggest you register on-line for next year.

Funnily enough – William Fotheringham has written a book on Coppi;
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fallen-Angel-Pas...71951228&sr=1-2 – it’s out in June, so I’ll pick it up then. I like Fotheringham – he’s most UK newspapers choice of expertise on Cycling and usually does a lot of the articles on the TdF for The Guardian.

Here's a great Countdown moment
Male Countdown Contestant "I've got Chlamydia , Carol "
Carol "Isn't that a female complaint ? "
MCC "No ,it's me 9 -letter- word yer daft cow !"
(Fat Richard chuckles away with faux bonhomie )

Still on Countdown matters ; What did La Vorderman do when she had constipation ? " .................................. "She worked it out with a pencil !"

I might get that Coppi book myself , thanks for the tip-off
Here's the version I'm reading
A LIFE FILLED WITH TRIUMPH AND TEARS

The old ones are the best! Heh!

Coppi looks disturbingly like Roy Castle on the cover of that book.

Meanwhile - your friend and mine Stevie G may be in a spot of bother...

Morning Radler !
Got the training plan Many thanks I sent you a mail Now my computer is playing up , so this might be the last correspondance for some time
I see you're CL white knuckle ride is still in progress I hope you make it ! We showed a second choice fulham who was boss yesterday with a 95th minute penalty win !!
I think I told you I made it basck in 2005 when we beat the barcodes one nil in our penultimate game to clinch the fourth spot Our last game was against your mates The Arse they tonlked us 7 (Yes SEVEN) Nil Lasat ever game at Highbury I think I suspect our players had had a couple of shandies mid week
THe Fausto Coppi book is ace Apart from the cycling , it gives you an insight to life in Italy from 1920 to 1960 an Italian "Heimat" no less I've got to the bit were the police have just forced entry into the house with the lover's husband , to "catch them at it" She got a prison sentence for adultery !! The false morality of the time was frightening given what's coming to light now (I don't about The Architecture ,That's Memb's department as he's into the Wirral Bontempi merchants)

Hiya Ivan,

Glad you got it OK!

Saturday was a foregone conclusion really – now have to make it up in the last remaining games (Bolton, Man Citeh & Burnley).

I’m looking forward to Fotheringham’s Coppi book – I re-read his Roule Britannia recently (a look at all the brits in the TdF) and it’s humour, honesty and detail was worth revisiting.

A prison sentence for adultery - that's mad!

Hahahahhaha! Ah, optimism! I experience it every now and again as a Spurs supporter – mostly then, and definitely now.

Last nights excesses ended at 3am this morning – I have a head that feels like it’s been s*** in by a bunch of angry badgers but I’m very, very happy anyway!

It has to be mentioned…probably because no-one else has mentioned it. The badgers have made a little clearing and I’m remembering that at the very start of the second half – before the whistle blows and before the teams are even out of the tunnel and on the pitch – Mancini could be seen violently rocking to and fro in his seat on his own in the dugout. It was the strangest thing. Reminded me of a bear at London Zoo that does the same thing because it had been ill-treated somewhere until rescued by the ZSL.

Even though we were awful for the first fifteen minutes of the second half, after seeing Mancini rocking like an abused bear I knew we’d win it. Mark Falco used to wind up the opposition in the tunnel – he said that sometimes the game could be won before it even kicked off. I was reminded of this watching Mancini react like that – we’d won the game before the second half started because what manager in his right mind would be seen violently rocking to and fro in his seat on his own in the dugout? Why wasn’t he leading his team out?

It is sad about the Owls, but they’ll get used to it…they usually do.
