Heh! Heh! Hope you have a fantastic final Ivan! As Eldritch would say when announcing Sisters gigs "Armageddon will be held indoors this year" wink

Considering the evil membership tiering/class system that the club adopted last season, I'd say - very little! Are you talking next season home game? Game on!

Hiya Ivan!

Once again, sorry I couldn’t come good for you – it’s all those west Londoners trying to get themselves some much needed history (have you ever seen a Chelsea history book? Well, I say book…it’s more like a leaflet and it starts in 1984…).

Bring it on Toffee! laugh I’m looking forward to the game – can’t see anything spectacular from my lot occurring (apart from Modric). We just about got it against the Baggies, and your lot might be a bit ‘reserved’ due to the cup game (I hope)- so I’m hoping for a draw.

I’ll look out for you (if I can find a pub and convince them to show it!) Flick a V to the Texan from me! smile

Phil Brown’s been found out – he’ll need to do more than that to break the run towards the inevitable. Having said that, he’s got more of a chance than I’d give Shearer or Southgate.

Ha ha I like the cut of your jib Radler Spot on .Member D confided to me that when he auditioned for Mastermind , his specialist subject was "The History of Chelsea FC " Magnus was a bit embarassed and finally said "Mr D I fear your choice is somewhat limited in its scope , would you like to do "Famous Belgian Cricketers " or "The Romantic Poetry of Arthur Mullard " instead Talking of the mighty Chelski , my first ever trip to "that there London" or "The Smoke" as we called it in our Northern hovels was 1975 as a 15 year old on the Footy Special from Lpool Lime Street to Euston , whence to Stamford Bridge The result had no bearing on our position whereas The Pensioners had to win to stay up to win They were cruising one nil ten minutes to go and up pops "Fat Bob" Latchford to equalise and condemn them to their natural habitat of the old Second Division . Cue pandemonium for irate Shed neanderthals who attacked our end Lucky I was wearing brown cords but regretted never having paid attention in my O Level "Mockney" course Was shaking with relief once I'd negotiated the underground and got back to Euston "Another country and another life " as the great man once said Talking of which a footy hoolie film based on Sampson's "AWay Days " (Tranmere Rovers " will contain a few Ultravox* tracks *The decent one with the exclamation mark
Going back to cycling , given your Sheffield connections and you love of the velocipede have you ever done The Snake Pass ? truly awesome and gobsmackingly beautiful I'd like to do it again with "TCM as a backdrop " Glossop to Sheffield if you are wondering If you haven't , get it done mate !
Re Saturday , I'll settle for a point
Next time you're in Sheffield , ask Pa -in -law Radler what happened at Wembley in 1966 Steam will probably come out of his ears !! I'm hoping for a repeat !!
I've put aside a couple of special "V" s for the Texan specially for you !!
And to conclude the cycling theme I've got this 70k Audax on Sunday (Apologies if I've already mentioned it in my e mail ) Starting and finishing at Fausto Coppi "Campionissimo " museum

Hiya Ivan,

What was that graffiti at Lime Street – I can’t remember what it said. It was writ large and was a warning/insult to Londoners when they got off the train. It was gone by the mid-90s I think.

Have you read Awaydays? From memory it was a bit laboured in places, and the characters (Elvis) were a bit unbelievable. I think it’ll make a better film than a book though. Perhaps if there’s a sequel they’ll get Half Man Half Biscuit in to do the soundtrack!

Snake Pass!!? Are you insane!? I used to travel between Manchester and Sheffield a lot on the coach via Snake Pass – the mixed debris of metal from crashes and flowers of remembrance strewn along the roadside is burned into my memory. The coach had to stop off near Ladybower once, due to a nasty pile-up. I listened to Cathedral Oceans whilst hoping to see the spire of the drowned village underneath the reservoir.

Cheers for the link Ivan – nice logo, but what’s the story with the cyclist wearing a mortar board on his head?
