"Sylvia's Mother " Dr Hook
After 35 years I still haven't worked out whether it's a wind up or a truly sad song Some times it has me in fits , sometimes near to tears An enigmatic wunderballad .
One positive thing , I think their lead singer is called Dennis !
Ok Foxxheads , 'fess up .Get those embarassing musical skeletons out of the closet now !

I have a soft spot for almost any version of "Send in The Clowns", but for some unfathomable reason the version by Barbara Streisand still gives me the most pleasure.

If not that, then The Crystals original version of "Da Doo Ron Ron"

I know what you mean about Sylvia's Mother as well though. cool

The Police _ Every Breath You Take ... I've never really understood if it's cool to like it or not, perhaps you could all let me know..(especially that guitar/piano break in the middle, gives me goosebumps)

Two Little Boys by Rolf Harris. Can stand the song but somehow the simplicity of the lyrics get to me.

I also know what's meant my Sylvia's Mother. Cringe on the rare occassion I have to hear that song.

Peter

Police are Scooby ! Shame on you
Nothing wrong with Abba , Scandanavian Ubergoetter ! I've got the little one interested in English thanks to them (alongside Karen Carpenter and Kate Bush not shaping up to be a Foxxista much to my chagrin)
Obligatory salutation

.. is that bad then?

How about
Blue - Breathe Easy ... almost makes me cry thanks to my little one, in fact a lot of Blue stuff ..

e.g. Bubblin' is fantastic. I think Foxx/Gordon should do a cover.
