Ecxiting news from NuWorld:
The Pleasure Principle tour is now less than six weeks away. I can't promise anything but I will try to get a guest or two to pop up once in a while as the tour progresses. Dirty Harry are now confirmed as the support band for the tour. Harry played many, if not all, of the other UK Numan shows this year. As many of you have probably already figured out the total amount of Pleasure Principle music comes to about 50 minutes. So, I'm likely to play the show in two halves, a Pleasure Principle set, plus a second set which will be more of a mixture of other older songs, some obscure, some not so obscure, and as many brand new songs as I can write between now and then. I hate making claims about how good the lighting will be as the venues themselves vary enormously and will dictate at times what we can load in. However, we are hoping to bring some things we've never used before which, in the factory at least, look amazing.
With this tour our usual CD audio programme is going to become a DVD programme called 'Conversation'. It will be more like a mini documentary film about the making of the original album and tour and many other things relevant to that time.
We will also have available the DVD version of the original Touring Principle video, called The Touring Principle 1979 - (30th Anniversary Edition). This DVD includes the original version that was swamped in special video effects, plus a new version with those effects removed. It also features an interview with me.
Obviously we also intend to film the tour at some point. That DVD will be called The Pleasure Principle 2009.
