Agreed on Hazel , Chris . Saw her in small club Bray Co Dublin 1991. Played a blinder La Wilcox I can take or leave. Lisping Midlanderesses don't weally float my boat La (or should that be "die") Brucken ,I don't know too much by her but I love "Duel"

Amy Winehouse is a great singer too, but its just not my type of music.
If she adds a load of synths, dyes her hair blue.....then shes in with a shout.

There are some fabulous female vocalists in the world of blues music. Two of my faves are Billie Holiday and Etta James.

Yes! I bought the singles 1969-1981 collection of The Carpenters years back. Her voice and her interpretation of songs, especially Superstar is awesome.
