Pet hates when on the road anyone?

I saw a low-forehead run a red light today and he was on a mobile phone. A pedestrian crossing and people were waiting to cross when this occured. mad

On a lighter note; I am sat in a minor road waiting to turn right and the traffic on the major road is so slow it has ground to a halt. So a car blocks my passage and puts the hand brake on when it is customary to stop a bit short ( as traffic is going nowhere fast )and allow other traffic to flow freely and mellifluously.

Another; I was travelling at about 40 in a forty zone when some yahoo overtook me and must have been doing at least fifty. Anyway. Over to you. eek mad mad mad eek

PHEASANTS!

Every day I travel to work through country lanes, and you can bet your bottom dollar that at least twice a week I come across a pheasant, just ambling across the road. Tonight was no exception. Picture this...I slow down until I'm nearly on top of the stupid bird, and it still sits there, looking at me. If I start to drive round it, it walks towards the wheels. Eventually it gets the message, (after some serious horn-honking and expletives) and dawdles back to the roadside. I am an animal lover, but they have got to be one of the dumbest creatures around. I think they must have some kind of suicide mode programmed into them, because they just sit waiting to be squashed! mad

Rant over.

Sorry laugh couldn't resist laugh
Actually, I'm upset by folks driving overspeed - and prepared for the day one of those overtakers is crushed on a roadside tree. I have my cellphone ready - to shoot video footage mad

Pheasants!

About a month ago, I went to the RYEDALE FOLK MUSEUM, located in Hutton-le-hole, on the North Yorkshire Moors. (I recommend it, I'm a season-ticket holder..)

This involved about 20 miles of driving on C-roads, with cattle-grids, etc. There are some really scary hills, and sheer drops to the side of the road, in places..

And DEAD PHEASANTS. Hundreds of them. CARNAGE. Blood and feathers everywhere.

They don't bother to try and fly away, they just either stand there, or they run around in circles. Either way: SPLAT!

Yuck.

As far as Pheasants being the dumbest birds around, I think Pigeons will knock them off the top spot!

"coo, coo, what's that noise?" Oh, it's a CA.........."

Maybe pheasants want to meet their maker via the wheels of a car in order to thwart a 'damn good day's sport' for a load of toffs or corporate twats on a shoot? smile
