Tonight its dark.
I've had an emotionally exhausting week, and that's when I turn to Torch songs.

Right now I'm wallowing in the inspirational sadness of Edith Piaf and Barbara.
I can feel Saint Judy waiting behind the deep red curtain...

And yesterday I rediscovered the joy of Marc Almond's lost songs on the Little Rough Rhinestones album.

Are there any other Jacques Brel fans in here?

Yep! Got into him through the 'Scott sings Jacques Brel' album that was issued in the 80s.

Jo and I go to Paris a few times a year and you can always find 70s copies of his albums for a euro in flea markets - I'm getting quite a collection together now!

Human League - 'Romantic?'.

And a few The Future demos, of very bad quality.

The Editors: The Back Room

Not bad but they sound like a cross between Interpol and The Bravery. I like about 50% of the cd.

Early incarnation of The Human League M.

[Edit] Ive spent the week playing the Leagues 'other' albums 'Hysteria', 'Crash', 'Romantic?', and 'Octopus'. Their last one to date, 'Secrets' is my least favorite the've made so far. But great to know their still recording and doing the odd gigs. smile
