Our household is saddened to heard the Harold Budd succumbed to complications of coronvirus to die yesterday, December 7th, 2020. Such an amazing musician. So down to earth for one who created such beauty. And with so many collaborators who were also favorite musicians of mine. My wife loves his music more than most! It's a rare week when we aren't listening to one of his albums. We just saw his residency in March of 2019 at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville. Three shows over that four day period was a real luxury. We'd seen him once before at Moogfest 2014, and each of the performances we saw were absolutely unique. We'll feel his loss going forward and our thought go to his son Terrence, who was so kind to us.

Below is a post from John about his friend Harold...

HAROLD BUDD May 24, 1936 - December 8, 2020

Shattered by the news. Harold was a real-life hero. Quietly resolute, always cheerful, out there on his own making a new kind of music that resonated and fascinated. Always will. He was top of the tree. Some of the most valuable and illuminating moments working with any musician came about when recording with Harold. Everyone fortunate enough to work with him will say the same. He brought the very best out of us. A great man and a great loss.
