I'm doing a translation and Napoleon and the effects of the revolution As you probably know , for 10 years ago they tried to rationalise the months by giving them names relating to the prevalent weather conditions during the year
Anyway ;I'm early June and come out as

18 Prairial from "prairie" meadow Wor Bryan even wrote a spiffing tune about it

6 Pluviôse CLXXVIII

Pluviôse (French pronunciation: [plyvjoz]; also Pluviose) was the fifth month in the French Republican Calendar. The month was named after the Latin word pluviosus, which means rainy.

Yeah, that's about right!
