After long consideration I've decided that my response should have been "whatever he wants". I don't know of any artist that plays to order, so I actually feel quite guilty about my previous post (totally selfish!). It would be nice from my point of view, but.... I'll happily listen to whatever comes next. I will confess that I never thought that I would be still listening to new stuff at my tender age! Bring it on!

I'd like to see him do soundtrack work - but not to his own films. I'd like to see him challenged a bit by someone else's vision. Besides, he never really got the soundtrack gig his work deserves.

I would have to agree with whatever he wants, and I am looking forward to the various projects in progress.

We have only seen a few examples of John doing cover versions so a covers album would be interesting.

And a Christmas album, a dark one obviously. For those who have heard Erasure's Snow Globe, that would be a good kick-off point, but brighter and darker, with Cathedral Oceans backing vocals.
