Has anybody else heard that Tangerine Dream founder and main man,Edgar Froese, died last Friday at the age of 70?

The early TD albums were very experimental and a great listen. Once signed with Virgin their output became more commercial but they still released some excellent stuff through the 70s and early 80s. Edgar also released some excellent solo albums during this period .However TD's output got less interesting and they got increasingly involved in producing soundtracks for naff movies. I gave up on their newer material a long time ago. Nevertheless Edgar truly was a great amongst electronic musicians.

Yes indeed. A sad loss.

I know that our own Rob Harris was a sincere fan
