Is it true that he used it? I thought that JF would have used a monophonic since the music video showed at least 2 other people playing different parts of the song. Someone who was selling a Polymoog on Craigslist claimed that JF used it in the song, and that others like Gary Numan, Blondie, etc. used it.

And according to the VintageSynth website, I'm surprised that this model was made between 1975 and 1980. John Foxx's name wasn't listed as one of the users for this model. Plus, polyphony didn't really take off until around 1984.

It doesn't really matter what was shown in the video smile
(People are just miming in videos, using the instruments as props - probably just hired for the day!)

The high strings in Underpass are most likely either a cheap string machine like the Elka Rhapsody or just a suitable sound on John's MiniMoog... Gareth Jones will have EQ-ed the bajeezus out of it and doused it in tons of reverb.
