I'm sure we used to have a 'cover versions that are better than the original' thread here on the forum, but strike me if I can find it anywhere, the search function throws up nothing (is it really limited to just a year only?), so I manually went backwards through the pages, however by page 86 and finding myself in 2007 I decided to give up before I ended up way back somewhere horrible like in the 80's, and we dont want to go there again now do we, Hooray Henry's running the country and widespread social discontent, thank god I believe that's all behind us now...

So, how about cover versions that you enjoy hearing without them impairing your love of the originals, I'll kick off with the excellent Buzzcocks and their excellent 1979 'I Believe' set alongside Rhys Fulber of Conjure One and his 'world music chill stylee' version from 2005-

Good to see you back Cores !
I'll set the bar very high with your fellow Sweaties . Like the Skids , they come from Dumferline if I'm not mistaken . I love Joni Mitchell but this must be one of her weakest ever efforts (From "Blue") The Naz simply take it into another dimension

Great call Ivan. Have to admit I'm far familiar with the Naz' 'stratospheric' version rather than with Joni's 'lazy summer's day' original, but love them both, and a perfect example of revealing an entirely different mood from an initial source.
