Harrumphhh!

I'm sure you meant 'second calendar year Yellow-legged Gull'...

Wow.. Can You tell Larus michahellis apart from the common L. argentatus by vox?

Last year a friend o'mine asked a Larus recording from me and I sent him L. canus. He used it in an intro of a rock song, and I must say that the song sounded jolly good because of that grin

Another friend o'mine recorded last year L. argentatus saying "-ha! -ha! -ha!" 79 times in a row:
Hahaha gull

Pah!

Not to mention... What is Surfing Bird? Aphriza virgata? I've been wondering this thirty years.

Talking of seagulls, there is the rather wonderful "Lesbian Seagull" sung by the equally wonderful Engelbert Humperdinck, as featured in the also rather wonderful film "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America".

Not by vox exactly. But Gulls are a specialism of mine.
Lucky enough to have a regular Larus michahellis nesting locally, interbreeding with Larus fuscus. It's a Southampton speciality.

Enjoyed picking up my first postive ID on Larus cachinnans a couple of years back... ;-D

Gulls are not ornithology, they are a religion - or a disease! Since the good old times (ie. the eighties) Larus argentatus has been split in so many new "species" by DNA-twitchers, that to be a birder nowadays you don't need binolulars but a microscope.
