Yes it is and it looks kosher to me in every way, except that missing numbering. Then again I've never seen one before.

There's (rather large) picture of the item: http://personal.inet.fi/muoti/mrnormall/Exotour1997.jpg

Yep, that looks exactly like mine, but for the blank number box. Most odd, and I'm guessing, more collectable as a result! Unfortunately for me however, is that mine also has a 1-inch-square, ugly-ass Virgin barcode sticker underneath the John & Louis image(s). I daren't remove it for fear of lifting the card-surface with it.

This is fascinating stuff. I have too much time on my hands...

As Rob says, there are in fact differences between quite a few of the tracks on "Subterranean Omnidelic Exotour" and the later Edsel re-issue "The Omnidelic Exotour".

As has been previously noted, quitar-like 'stabs' and added synth lines are present on the latter, particularly on The Quiet Men and The Noise which has a noticeably longer intro.
Similarly on Endlessly.

Exactly the opposite is true on Through My Sleeping - the 'liquid' trickle at the beginning is missing on the Edsel version, which is shorter than the original.

There are also some subtle differences at the end of This City on the first two releases. Like Shifting City and Burning Car it is the 'Subterranean' version that appears on the Edsel edition.

Thus, I think confused four out of the five tracks on the Exotour 1997 EP are unique to that release, even if the differences are minor.

We have criticised the Edsel releases before in terms of their sound quality, and this is a good example. Just For A Moment in particular suffers from too much loudness and loses some of the texture as a result.

Yeah, Exotour 97 is much easier and shorter to say!

Looks lovely in its case.

I wish they'd kept that cover for the double-disc reissue.

The cover of the latter release was particularly nasty. The fonts alone nearly made me not buy it.

I was actually looking through the booklet to that today, and I'd forgotten all about those wonderful quotes from John, giving background to many of the songs - really interesting.

The cover to the booklet was slightly better than the digipack cover (IMHO) but still not up to much and ruined by that horrific font!
