Didn't even make the top 100!

This doesn't sound right to me - how many sales does it need to get to 100? I was thinking under 1000 confused

I think it got to no 1 on Play.com & did well on Amazon but not so good on I-tunes.

I suspect the charts are more I-tunes driven.

Would be nice to find out how many were downloaded

This must be very disappointing for all the people involved.

I've had a quick scan on the net and the sort of singles chart figures you are looking at are: -

Top 10 – 18,000
Top 20 – 8, 000
Top 30 – 5,000
Top 40 – 4,000
Top 100 – 1500
Top 200 – 750

Vienna got to 113, so this gives a ball park figure of under 1500 sales - which seems very low bearing in mind how many signed up on the various promotional sites.

Does anyone know how this compares with similar chart placings in 1980?

Good question Mart .. hard to find figures but I see Wiki gives, for example, Soft Cell's Tainted Love as selling over 800,000 within 1981.

Not sure how many Joe Dolce sold!

That's probly for the whole year tho - it was UK's best selling single in 81...?
Surprising that this data is hard to find. I'v never been able to source stiff like this either.

Oh, and no abbreviations on the name please.
One doesn't like it... frown
