Hi everyone, finally registered with this forum!
I first saw John at the Outlook Club in Doncaster in 1977, he leaned right over me singing 'Young Savage' (I wonder if I could still identify the after shave?).
Hitch-hiked down from Durham to The Leadmill, Sheffield in 1983 to find the gig cancelled (throat infection), took train to see John at the Dominion Theatre, asked the road crew if I could help set the band up at Essex Uni the next night.... by sheer coincidence I found out the social sec was the same guy who was at Liverpool Uni (78-81) when I used to crew for bands as a student! Spent the whole gig stage right next to Robin and had a chat with John after. Travelled to London for a gig in 2002/3? (Pleasures of Electricity) after travelling down from Rotherham.
I teach part time and work with Radiowaves school's internet multimedia station provider, so I help young people from 3-19 make videos podcasts and basically support their multimedia interests online. Fits brilliantly with my hobbies and music tastes.
The two albums I would take to a desert island are Systems of Romance and Kimono My House (Sparks).
I run the Penetration Fans site since 1999. Live in Rotherham, support Rotherham Utd (don't mention Wembley)so i get to trawl round northern provincial towns all year wink
I spend a lot of time in Sutton Coldfield as that's where my partner lives (great comedy club at The Station pub.

I've got two tickets for The Roundhouse, my partner, she can't make it so I've got one spare. As the play off final at Wembley has cost me an arm and a leg AND the train company has discontinued the late train back from London to Birmingham (it ran when I saw Sparks in March 09)I'm happy to swap it for either a floor to kip on after the gig or travel back to West Midlands (it's half term so will be at my second residence wink ). Looking forward to the gig immensely, logistics can be such a pain though and my hitch hiking days are over!

Welcome my Zeitgenossen * I'm about 7 weeks older than you So you also remember Ultravox when they were decent and carried an exclamation mark
Good shout on "Kimono my House " an absolute jewel "You mentioned Kant and I was shocked , where I come from the girls don't have such foul tongues "
Enjoy yourself on the 5th

*That's German for "Not so Young Savage" If you use foreign words it gives you a faux * veneer of sophistication
