It could just be word play. Leigh chose the name Foxx because it sounded like a machine – Airtex, Sonovox etc.
If hyphenated to Meta-tron a similar logic could have been applied. Meta; a prefix used in English to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept, and the use of Tron, a suffix to denote a machine; Mellotron etc. Not forgetting the 'B-Movie/Rock n Roll' echo that 'tron' implies; A Gretsch Filter'Tron, Vega Duo-Tron etc.
So - ‘Conceptual abstract machinery...with a 1950s UFO tailfin’ then – if that ain’t Foxx – I dunno what is!
