Don't fret!
I suppose this was them - you tube - but no mention of the Foxxy support slot on their Wikipedia page...

Top marks for finding that MemberD. I can recall the drummer having a very interesting use of Symmonds drum pads (or is it Simmonds?) - he often played the side of them as opposed to the pads themselves - interesting.

Shame they didn't break through - easy to see why I had to fight 13 yr old girls for the front spot (and temporarily lose)!!

I smuggled my camera into Hitchin and took some shots, most were blurred, but sad thing is that I can't locate them anywhere now.

[pedant]The drum kit was actually a Simmons one, which back in 1983 was considered state of the art. I'm not sure which model was used on the Golden Section tour but I'm guessing it was probably a SDS7.[/pedant]

Of course with the benefit of hindsight that drum sound now sounds horribly dated, but at the time it was considered about as good as you could get.

More details here.....

I believe so. Considering they were a bit of a bugger to set up, I reckon John's band and the support band probably shared the same kit.

If I recall correctly, the drummer in Silent Running used a hybrid setup (which I though was cool) - and seemed to be able to create differing sounds by playing the pad, AND the rim - I had no idea that this kind of tech was built into the electronic kits of the day.

It's what's on the Spanish TV videos isn't it?

I remember a Tomorrow's World programme or something from early 80s and they had Spandau Ballet showing theirs off! They said only them and Mike Oldfield had one..

Nah...

They were all the rage in those days. Remember Naked Lunch?

Made (or headquartered) in St Albans - I remember the factory there. Gone now of course!
