Up on myspace and The Quiet Man website is this:

"‘Clicktrack’ is a film created by Jonathan Barnbrook for the recent DNA exhibition in London. It features animation created along to a sound archive tape made in 1980 at the recording
of John Foxx’s pioneering Metamatic album. The tape was used unedited with all the gaps and hisses etc in place. The lyrics of the album are used for the words that appear throughout."

This is very important as it shows us how essential monosynths like the Arp Odyssey and Minimoog were in creating electronic tracks. I call them special effects synths and they add to the sounds/pads/melody created by the polysynths eg strings (Polymoog). Mind you monosynths also make some great lead and bass sounds.

Thanks for another insight John on how Metamatic was created! laugh

Check out John's cd Metal Beat as an essential guide to the making of Metamatic.

This is fantastic - Metamatic re-purposed but showing how valid it is now as it was nearly 30 years ago. Love it. laugh
