Thnaks brian.

It's unbelievably bad.

Just because you're inspired by someone, I suppose it doesn't necessarily mean your work is actually 'good'...

Some people just shouldn't be allowed into a studio.

That popped up on eMusic a while back. According to a website linked from the Amonn V2 myspace, Amonn V2 and Shangrilla Girls (the cover girl models) is all some kind of attempt at creating a marketing/branding group. The music (all covers of alternative and electronic music) really doesn't seem to be the main focus at all; it's just something to sell and push the related brands.

Does our Dennis know about this? Aren't artists supposed to 'authorise' cover versions in some way?

I'm afraid it's all my fault! Clearly the "artist" must have seen my "Why wasn\'t Europe After The Rain a massive hit?" thread and decided to remake it!

Not usually, no.
British songwriters tend to have put PRS/MCPS in charge of collecting royalties on their songs.

If you are going to release a CD, you send the details to MCPS, and they send you an invoice for the royalties; you just pay them and they pass them on.

Songwriters can specifically request for MCPS to check with them first though, if they're fussy.
