even Louis Gordon referred to him as Foxxy when I was chatting with him at last weeks gig in Nottingham laugh

Or shall we just call him Dennis...

Just voted myself.

A Secret Life wins hands down for me as it is the most 'different' and evocative of the four new albums.
While My Lost City is an excellent body of work and has some inspiring tracks, I don't 'get' the concept of it as an album and it sounds (at least to me) like what it is - a collection of lost tracks. It doesn't quite gel as a whole, so therefore I don't rate it as a great 'album'... does that make sense?

My personal struggle is with Mirrorball.

The Quiet Man is just brilliant, and I have played that one the most. After that, my third vote went to "In The Glow" although I was torn between this and "Destination" and (dare I suggest) TPOE.
My least favourite John and Louis album sounds a skwillion times better this time round, and I really like both the additional tracks.

What I like about it is probably the same feeling I experienced when listening to The Golden Section re-master, and that is what I love about this year in the life of 'Foxxy'. Re-issued 'old' material sits so perfectly alongside the new stuff, and playing other things from the archive adds to the feeling that its all coming together.

This is the year during which I feel everything has started to make sense - each release shedding new light on the others.

A glimpse of old sunlight, if you will. The past is the new future wink

I had to vote for Shifting City. I waited sooooo long for this re-issue. Destination is also great, the second highlight of the year for me.

Preaching to the converted! smile

A Secret Life is the definitive ambient album. It's a classic and rivals anything that Eno has produced. It would have been my choice in this survey but my bias towards anologue synth music led to My Lost City as my choice. The sound of the Odyssey and the VP-330 is unbeatable. That's my personal thinking!

'A Secret Life' is my no.1 Foxx related release this year. I only bought it a few days ago & have only played it twice, but as soon as i heard the opening track I was mesmerised. 'Shifting City' is second & 'My lost City' 3rd. MLC doesn't hit the spot like I thought it would. A lot of it reminds me of hymns in a church service that would have me switching off & admiring the architecture instead. The reason why it's 3rd in the list is that I've only bought 3 Foxx albums this year.

Like Alex. 'Mirrorball' holds no interest & I'd rather wait for 'The Quiet Man' book than listen to a posh bloke with a posh voice reading about something he doesn't understand, whereas John does.

Not that it would change my vote, but I noticed that "Flightpath Tegel" is missing from the list. Is that for a reason (because will be included on DNA materail (next year?)) or just a mistake? I think that as it is available, it should be considered. I think it is a great track and the video just blows me away.

First of all thanks to all for voting and I'm glad my hard work wasn't in vain! (all 10 minutes of it).

Solenoid: I didn't put 'Tegel' on as it's not really an official 'release' as such since it's only the soundtrack to a video made by someone else.
or is it the other way round? Anyway I didn't put it in. Actually I was going to limit it to albums but as Destination / Sept Town were so good I stuck them in too and they are official releases (and unsurprisingly is doing very well).

Anyway good to see nothing is at 'zero points' ... wink
