Brian,
Much appreciated from those of us who weren't there, but who clearly should have been!

I am kicking myse;f, as these chances don't come along often enough!

Hope you enjoyed, might see you at the next event (whenever/whatever that may be).

All the best

Don't forget to rate the "quiet article" in the Guardian webpage. I gave it 5 stars (all of which were on fire!!).

http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/movie/127083/john.foxx

Should be fun to have a highly rated article with no content!

Cheers for the comments Solenoid.

Japan is an awful long way to come to see something that's not finished though.

In the Q & A at the end which I will try to post later he says that he's concentrating on finishing The Quiet Man next year.
That will be the time to see it.
Its excellent now so what will it be like when it's complete?

Thanks for the pictures, links and films brian - sounds like you have quite a 'scrapbook' there to capture a great evening.

Look forward to feedback from others too.

I'm particularly keen to know which section of The Quiet Man JOhn read aloud. Was it the piece performed in Genoa?

Great stuff cool

Thanks for the link Brian, I’ve looked at the clip a couple of times now, and was waiting for anyone else who attended to maybe make a post or review first, but thought I’d say something now as I really appreciated getting the chance to experience something of the evening, and thanks to your video I can enjoy it here, and John is also very gracious in letting cameras into his shows.

That’s a good clip you’ve put up, and it’s very interesting seeing the live atmospheric piano playing, which for me is a very positive element to the work. In some ways I almost stopped hearing the narrator, partly because of the actual speaker and also I think in already having the gist of the first part of the story in my mind. The piano became the dominant voice for me, carrying me through the images as the speaker in the background continued to provide the information of the text.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Q&A smile

Cheers Martin.

The bit that John narrates starts off
"This is the blurred man"

Excellent. This piece is called "A man Made of Shadows".

It is the same piece he read in Genoa.
And thanks for the Q & A too - super stuff.

A man made of shadows is the very next line.
Should have guessed it was called that.
