There's always some clever idiot. Shouting Vienna at Foxx gigs - some people probaby think it's funny, but, quite frankly, it's not.
It is fair to say that Foxx's former band had more chart success even in
that one song alone that his own solo career in the early 80s. So maybe somebody shouting out "Vienna" is a cause for ridicule - but clearly John is good humoured and mature enough not to bat an eyelid.
Although I do find that hard to believe that somebody got ejected for doing that... but then again, if it is considered as mockery, John has every right to be intolerant of such behaviour.
But as far as I know he isn't touchy about mentioning the band - far from it. Certainly not about HIS time in it. What they did without him was very different anyway, so why should he be bothered.
Midgevox may have been more commercially successful, but personally I find it far less interesting – incomparable, in fact. The odd single, b-side and instrumental aside, it's safe to say I'm not a fan of post-Foxx Vox at all.
