I'd like to ask a question about Ultravox if I may....

Why is John so touchy around the very mention of the band? Just curious.

At the last Foxx gig I attended in London some guy shouted out 'Vienna' between songs and was asked to leave.

I would appreciate everyone's thoughts. As I said I am just curious....

There's always some clever idiot. Shouting Vienna at Foxx gigs - some people probaby think it's funny, but, quite frankly, it's not.

It is fair to say that Foxx's former band had more chart success even in that one song alone that his own solo career in the early 80s. So maybe somebody shouting out "Vienna" is a cause for ridicule - but clearly John is good humoured and mature enough not to bat an eyelid.

Although I do find that hard to believe that somebody got ejected for doing that... but then again, if it is considered as mockery, John has every right to be intolerant of such behaviour.

But as far as I know he isn't touchy about mentioning the band - far from it. Certainly not about HIS time in it. What they did without him was very different anyway, so why should he be bothered.

Midgevox may have been more commercially successful, but personally I find it far less interesting – incomparable, in fact. The odd single, b-side and instrumental aside, it's safe to say I'm not a fan of post-Foxx Vox at all.

Could the answer be because John is an overly-precious twit at times?

I can't believe Rigsby got thrown out of that gig, he was only looking for his cat.
Speaking of cats, please shout it out, Pussycat 1, would pay again to see you thrown out wink
Cheers

This really does sound absurd!?

Are you saying John turned off the music, stopped the show, and asked the bouncers to manhandle someone out of the venue, or else he wouldn't resume the gig?

The whole audience should've walked out!

I remember seeing Shakin Stevens live in concert around about '83. After the main set, some guy shouted out, 'more' 'more'. Needless to say, the audience were not amused. laugh

Didn't humourless blandrock singer "Ryan Adams" kick some audience member out of his gig for shouting for a *Bryan* Adams song?

It's like that primary school teacher thing "Right, nobody is leaving the classroom until someone owns up to that!" "Aw missss! That's not fair, miss! We didn't do anything!"
Solidarity is the key to these situations smile
