Poyns says it all = it really was a fantastic two days. Tonight was even better than last night, more energy, and despite there being slightly less people today, they were more charged and more involved. So much so that they clapped for at least five minutes after the house lights went back on hoping for another song.

I hung around a bit and managed to say "hello" to John and Louis, as well as some of the entourage (including Mr Harris, Steve, and one of the two Chris'). What an amazing bunch of really nice people - all of them. No borders, no snobbery, just genuine warmth. I really look forward to another live set in Japan in the not too distant future.

I'm still reeling from two great gigs, so I can't write much. Actually, I must have sounded like a complete ninny speaking to John - starstruck perhaps?

Got me thinking though, I wonder if there are tickets still available for the show at Cargo. Sure it is a long flight, but sounds like an event not to be missed!

I have never seen that at any other gig before and I've been to well over 50 concerts. Great stuff.

Solenoid, where were you standing?

THE GARDEN!!!!!!

I would so dearly love to witness this played live. Great set list. Not too Metamatic-heavy for a change smile

Ooh, and "Young Savage".....

While I can understand the UK-based fans worrying about the set being Metamatic heavy, remember that NONE of the album had ever been played live over here. Those three songs were perhaps the best received tracks over the two nights.

Has "Young savage" been in the set in the UK gigs in the last couple of years, Alex?

Agree with Ponys (again!). My impression of the crowd was that the Metamatic songs went down best, followed by the old Ultravox ones. The biggest cheers and most dancing were during these tunes.

Everything was really well received though.

--> Ponys - I was front right (in front of the speaker stack) - how about you?

Solenoid: right behind you! I was (and indeed still am) the tall bloke with the glasses. Was that Rob with the camera that you were talking to before the gig started, or were you the bloke with the camera?

You are right re the Ultravox! songs as well. "Dislocation" seemed particularly popular.

Aha! So at least we spoke, albeit very briefly!!

I was the guy without the camera but with my wife, and well spotted, Rob was down there at the front (with the camera).

I'm glad you're having such a fantastic time, Rob! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get home. Almost 1am in Tokyo now - hope the last gig was just as brilliant! C. x
