Well, I'm a big fan of Numan's career from
Sacrifice onwards. I like it certainly as much as the early years. I think - like John - Gary has moved in a modern direction that's just perfect for him, and a style that is rightfully winning him a new generation of fans.
My favourite John Foxx album is
The Pleasures of Electricity. I think
From Trash might come second with
Metamatic in third place - although it did used to have top spot!
I generally listen to John's music much more than Gary's these days - it suits my daily life
But I don't want this to turn into some kind of pointless Foxx/Numan debate. I've enjoyed Gary's music more than ever this past couple of years especially with the Telekon tour and
Jagged. Like I said earlier - I can't/don't/won't compare them, because their music is very different, especially these days and they both have their place and purpose for me.
It was really nice to hear John talking positively about Numan in the recent Australian radio interview. And Numan still does likewise.
We're drifting off topic here, but if you haven't seen it, maybe you'd enjoy reading/joining the discussion on
recent Foxx album consistency...
