Well, wore my Auzzie tour t-shirt to the 80's fest here in Glasgow on Saturday and it caused a fair stir!!
Had quite a few conversations with folk because of it.One guy even saud he didn't go to the Metamatic tour because "it wasn't the real Foxx playing!!,he had some other guy with him"
Well after laughing at him for being a fool I set him straight and he says he'll go to the next Glasgow gig.
One Guy was amazed that I'd went all the way to Oz to see John play!! smile
(I told him the truth eventualy)
I personaly was suprised at the amount of attention a simple,if slightly diverse from what was on stage, band t-shirt could generate, hopefully sent a few people home googling John and this site!!
Hello!! if you have smile

I was once approached by an over-friendly fan at a synth night in Sheffield, whilst wearing my Crash & Burn t-shirt. He loved the album and shouted in my face that it was BETTER THAN METAMATIC!!!.

Or you could try faking the accent and claim you flew over especially.

I have to say (and I know I'll get shot down here) but 'Crash & Burn' and in particular 'From Trash' are my best two albums since the 80's.

To me they are BOTH better than Metamatic!

I think Metamatic is a really good album but I don't have a romance with it. To me it's not near the quality of say Numan's Pleasure Principle.

Take it easy on me....I'm only being honest.

Not a problem with sharing your taste with us! By coming here, you are in no way obliged to bow down every time you hear Metamatic! wink

It's our varied tastes that make this place such a good forum for discussion.

Personally, I couldn't possibly compare Numan's Pleasure Principle and Metamatic though - they might both be synth albums, but to my ears, they couldn't be more different. A pair of great electronic albums all the same.

Phew.....didn't think I'd get it so easy after a comment like that on this site.

For what it's worth although I rate Numan's earlier work higher than John's I think the direction John is going in now musically is spot on (in particular with Louis) as apposed to Numan's direction these days!
